MAKING TOOTSIE: A FILM STUDY WITH DUSTIN HOFFMAN AND SYDNEY POLLACK. Susan was the only writer allowed on the set of this classic comedy. Her book shows how much tension and conflict can go into making America laugh. MAKING TOOTSIE is being re-issued in spring 2011.

THE NAZI OFFICER'S WIFE IS AN INTERNATIONAL BEST SELLER!

Called by Library Journal "the best Holocaust memoir ever", THE NAZI OFFICER'S WIFE tells the story of Edith Hahn Beer, a Jewish woman who hid in plain sight in the heart of Nazi Germany all through the war, married a German officer who kept her true identity a secret, had a child with him and survived to tell an unforgettable tale of courage and plain dumb luck. Also available as an "AUDIE" AWARD-winning audiobook.

"I often write about ordinary lives crashing into history. ALL DAY SUCKERS - Dad's health care. THE NAZI OFFICER'S WIFE - the hausfrau's Holocaust. THE BOOK OF CANDY - gun runners next door. STOLEN GOODS - the single girl and national redemption." SD

Bent Skovmand was a Danish plant scientist, an expert on wheat, a disciple of the great Norman Borlaug and one of the leading seed bankers in the world. Time Magazine said he "had more to do with the welfare of the world's people than many heads of state." For thirty years, he served as advisor to dozens of countries, teaching their scientists how to preserve precious seeds and secure the genetic resources of the future. He hunted for seeds with genes that would provide resistance to disease and the stresses of drought and flooding caused by global warming. In an era when multinational corprations often jealously guarded patents on plant breeding, Skovmand fought to keep seed banking a free, open scientific exchange for farmers and breeders everywhere.

THE VIKING IN THE WHEAT FIELD is an entertaining, anecdote-filled book, written in a user-friendly style that makes the burning questions about food security clear to any reader. "The logical next read after Michael Pollen's The Omnivore's Dilemma" said Library Journal.

Said Prof. Warren Dick in CSSA Journal: "This book would make a great gift for young people interested in science."

Prof. Calvin Qualset of the University of California, Davis called it "Exciting and compelling! I highly recommend it as essential core reading for students of international development, agricultural policy, plant science, agronomy and horticulture, indeed...any course that relates to global food production and security."

ALL DAY SUCKERS is a fierce comedy with hilarious songs, 1 act, 7 characters, 1 set. It tells the story of Bryce, the spoiled only child of an adoring, widowed father. She has a great job. A great fiance. A perfect life.

Then her father gets sick. And Bryce finds herself cast into the role of primary care giver, dealing with desperate hospitals, doctors who race by like shooting stars, nurses brilliant and incompetant, and a larcenous insurance company that is determined not to pay for her father's care. "You're in a war here, Brycie," says her lawyer. "Better learn to fight."

ALL DAY SUCKERS was one of the hits of the New York Fringe Festival last summer. NYtheater.com called it "a thought-provoking, emotional, funny play".

Talk Entertainment said: "Whatever you do, cancel all your other appointments and go see ALL DAY SUCKERS!"
